Coffee Love and Facts

Coffee was first discovered in Ethiopia around A.D. 850. As a small village of Yemen known as Mocha began to brew this drink and share it with surrounding areas and explorers from all areas of the world, coffee gained popularity as a great drink. Coffee has a long glorious history and many companies in the United States have taken advantage of its versatility, deliciousness, and public appeal. For centuries it has been used as food, drink, medicine, currency, and a piece of the divine connection. It has been an integral part of mankind’s existence and it is still as much a part of daily life for millions as it has ever been!

Coffee itself comes in many blends and strengths and brews and can often be found with flavors and other additives to make them even more enjoyable. Coffee creamer played a large role in the staying power of coffee in the modern era. Its popularity soon gave rise to the idea of incorporating favors into the creamer, thus creating a wave of new flavor products made by many companies. These coffees and creams come in tempting varieties such as Chocolate, Vanilla, Irish Cream, Caramel, Amaretto, Pumpkin Spice, Peppermint, and many, many more. Coffee is indeed the drink of the modern age!

Many brands have come and gone and there are some that still remain the ideal example of branding power within the coffee industry. These common and widely recognized brands of coffee line shelves and fill cabinets. With so many brands to choose from it can be hard to know what to look for in your coffee.   • Consider ground or whole beans- the way you want to brew your coffee will affect if you need whole or ground coffee and if you plan to grind your own.

  • Think about the blend- consider the cup of brew you want to drink- do you want smooth, bold, strong, dark, light, or something else?

  • Caffeine or Caffeine-Free – coffee is often enjoyed for the boost of energy it provides but those who don’t want or need it can still enjoy the delicious taste.

  • Socializing and Stress Reduction- many people enjoy drinking coffee with friends and family in social settings or as part of their normal morning routines.
